Through our work on the Leasing Business Premises Code (www.leasingbusinesspremises.co.uk) we are very aware of the difficulties that small businesses face trying to access property information and advice. This is therefore a very interesting initiative, which for small business owners and their landlords is well worth investigating, because it provides regular access to easy-to-digest information and the ability, when required, to tap-in to expert advice.
Elmer contacted a business called the Tenant Assistance Program (TAP), which exists to “create a bridge of communication between landlords and tenants”. Regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, TAP provides occupiers with guidance on property-related issues and acts as a gateway to specialist service providers.
I can see TAP helping many smaller occupiers to become better tenants, bringing benefits to both them and us in heightened management efficiency.
