Ken Abram established his successful and well known financial planning practice, The Abram Partnership in 1992. A fluent and captivating public speaker and is a regular presenter to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Cardiff Business School and Glamorgan University Business School. In May 2002, Ken also addressed the Chartered Management Institute’s National Conference on CPD.
In 1986 and 1987 he was Deputy President and Vice President of Cardiff Junior Chamber and he was a Council member of the Cardiff Chamber of Commerce. He still has time to help young people as a business adviser for the Princes Trust and to inspire teenagers in schools to be entrepreneurial when he visits to give talks as a role model for the Welsh Government Big Ideas Wales Project.
In 1988 he joined the Institute of Management. After 3 years as Treasurer, he went on to be the youngest-ever Chairman of the Institute of Management in Cardiff. In 2005 the Institute gained its charter status and became known as The Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Ken was been of the Chartered Management Institute in Wales for 8 years. He served on Chartered Management Institute National Council and the Audit Committee for 3 years. He was a member of the Steering Committee for the Management Charter Initiative. Ken Abram joined the Institute of Financial Planning in 1992 and as a Financial Planner he helps clients to achieve their financial goals and aspirations.
As a Trustee of the Community Foundation in Wales he was the catalyst in recovering tens of thousands of pounds to provide additional funding to communities throughout Wales who required support.
An extremely skilled and professional person, Ken has outstanding skills, knowledge and experience not only in financial services and advice but also in IT, business coaching, sales and sales management. He is an instinctive net worker, an excellent summariser as a springboard for action and has been described by a close colleague as: “a patient visionary and an excellent people manager, who skilfully uses a blend of IQ and EQ intelligence”.
In recent years Ken has focused on helping clients reduce the voluntary taxes, income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax. He has a range of strategies to suit various circumstances to ensure clients keep more of their money and create more wealth and protect existing wealth from the ravages of the taxman.
The Abram Partnership for the last 11 years have had a successful record of working with former financial advisers. In fact one former adviser was earning more working as a Client Liaison Manager introducing his clients to the practice than he ever did as a financial adviser.
