Rob Rule, founder of Redfish Ventures Ltd, has over 20 years experience of business leadership, technology commercialisation, venture capital investment and raising finance. He has extensive blue-chip industry experience with ICI and DuPont encompassing various roles in business management, sales, marketing and R&D (with particular expertise in the polymers industry). After leaving the chemical industry, Rob became a director of an early-stage technology company (Micap PLC) and played an integral role in the commercialisation of the technology in the flavours, pharmaceutical and agrochemical sectors and in the flotation of the company on AIM in 2003, raising in excess of £10m.
In recent years, Rob has worked in the Venture Capital sector, initially with Liverpool Ventures (an investor in early-stage technology companies linked to the £27m Liverpool Seed Fund) before joining Techtran Group Ltd (a subsidiary of IP Group PLC) as Managing Director. At Techtran, Rob was responsible for commercialising and investing in spinout companies emerging from leading Universities. Rob has a first class degree in Chemical Physics from the University of Bristol, a PhD in Materials Structure from the University of Liverpool and a Business Masters degree (with distinction) from the University of Warwick.
