MARITAS delivers SQA and MCA approved training throughout UK, in France and Sardinia. In principle, our flexible model could be used anywhere in the world.
The MARITAS organisation consists of an extensive network of people. All are experienced seafarers qualified to senior level as officers in the Merchant Navy. Our managers have worked at senior level in UK nautical colleges with qualifications and experience to match. They bring that ‘big college’ perspective to the technical content and quality of our courses while focusing clearly on customer needs and a personal approach.
MARITAS has been involved in the development and delivery of maritime education, training and assessment at the highest levels for many years, including writing many of the current near coastal deck qualification units for Maritime Studies Qualification pathways. By way of example, our MD has served on the executive of IAMI, served on the Nautical Institute’s Professional Development Committee for over 10 years and is currently chair of the NWA’s Training Group.

Maritas is an SQA approved centre and offers MCA approved courses.
We are corporate members of the International Association of Maritime Institutions (IAMI) and the National Workboat Association (NWA).
MARITAS offers a comprehensive service for training and assessment of personnel. These are supported open learning programmes that allow candidates to work largely in their own ports and in their own time, so there is no 'down time' or relief staff required while training is underway. This represents potential for significant cost savings by reducing.....
In addition to our courses, MARITAS offers consultancy services including developing and delivering training programmes, writing material such as learning modules and tests, technical advice regarding learning and assessment, appraisal of candidates, appraisal of learning material and programmes, audits of training programmes.....
