Back in the mid 80’s John & Sarah Platt began “Platty + Canoe & Kayaks” born of their passion and enthusiasm for paddling and John’s natural talent to inspire and impart his knowledge and skill. They have gradually expanded and built “Platty +” into the wider ranging watersports centre it is today.

Over the years John and Sarah’s 3 boys all worked in the business and although the boys have moved on to greater things, John and Sarah are still there on a daily basis. The staff are a dedicated team of like minded enthusiasts with the same family values and work ethic ensuring you have fun in a safe caring environment, that has been the defining ethos of Platty + all along.

In the car on the way home from our holiday, some days after Platty+, Niamh and Sophie both rated Platty+ as the highlight of our trip and cant wait to come back next year.

We always love going to Plattyplus, its such a perfect part of the world – always a highlight of our trips to the Lakes.

Established in 1985, Platty+ is a small, friendly, family run water sports business based on the shores of Derwentwater, Keswick in the heart of Cumbrias Lake District.
