About Courtdrift

The Elms Nursing Home is part of Scio Healthcare Ltd who is a registered Nursing and Care Home provider, owning and operating three Nursing Homes on the Island. Scio Healthcare is registered to provide care enabling the staff at the Elms to provide support and assistance into a resident’s own home at Courtdrift.

Cottages are available to purchase on a 50 year leasehold basis. This means a resident owns their own property, has their own front door and retains independence. Our cottages are unique on the Isle of Wight in that they offer the only Assisted Living accommodation where a Registered Nurse is on-site 24 hours a day. This enables us to provide emergency nursing care to residents of the cottages should it be required.

There is a service charge payable by all residents, monthly in advance by Standing Order. The following list provides everything that is included within the service charge.

Informally included as part of the Service Charge is the provision of a regular (currently weekly) Doctor’s surgery. This service is provided within the Elms and is attended by the Doctors at St Helen’s surgery.

Bembridge traditionally has a strong connection with the sea having had an RNLI lifeboat station since 1867 when £524 was spent on a lifeboat to provide security for those in peril on the sea to the east of the Island. In 2010 £10 million was spent on a new state of the art lifeboat station and since 1867 the lifeboat has saved over 900 lives. The village has a vibrant community including a parish council, village hall, many shops, a bank, restaurants, cafes, pubs, a primary school, post office as well as the very picturesque harbour.
