He set up Bex Design and the design studio in 1997 in an effort to pull resource and processes in-house. This eventually allowed Bex Design to buy-out Serobex and Ian became the Managing Director of the business in 2005. Ian’s invaluable engineering and print experience along with a ‘can do’ attitude have been pivotal in the success of the company.
Katherine joined the company in January 2011 as Financial Controller and is responsible for all aspects of the company accounts.
On her return to Bex Design in 2010 Mel took on the important role of Quality Representative for the business and is now responsible for our ISO 9001 management.
Ed started his career working for one of the UK’s largest retail groups whilst studying for his degree in Product Design. He went on to have a successful career in retail management before being offered the opportunity to join the sales team here at Bex Design in 2009.
Mike can boast of 42 years in the screen print industry, beginning his career straight from school. He started as a screen printer in 1973 printing complex 22 colour glass products for the gaming machine industry.
As a member of the sales team Colin specialises in all aspects of membrane switch design and production and is often called upon for his considerable IT skills.
Shaun is one of the more “senior” members of the team here at Bex Design having joined Serobex as a screen cleaner in 1989. He very quickly progressed within the business, moving into screen printing where he excelled as an overlay and membrane printer.
In 2005 Shaun took on the role of print manager where his knowledge and hands on approach has proved invaluable with the ever evolving nature of our business.
Steve took on the role of Finishing Supervisor in 2010 where he excels working to tight lead times, just-in time production schedules and multi-tasking on a daily basis.
Pat and her team continue their good work at the end of the production chain, dealing with regular Kanban and stock orders, ensuring daily deadlines are met and goods despatched on time to meet our customer’s expectations.
Dave joined us in May 2011 after many years honing his Mac skills producing sales and marketing literature and POS material for a large, multi-national company.
Steve takes a very active role, not only producing artworks and cutting files for production, but is also trained in most areas of production especially the flat bed digital printer and reel labels machines.
Company Founded
The original company, Serobex, was founded in February 1987 and was established in a small business unit with 2 employees in Calne, Wiltshire.
With a growing reputation for providing high quality screen print and membrane switch production, the company moved into larger, purpose built premises in Stanier Road, the site we currently occupy to this day.
Bex Design was evolved to complement the existing print facility, providing an on-site consultancy and design facility and with its dedicated sales team, introduced a new client base and product range to the business, significantly increasing its turn over.
Understanding the rapidly evolving demands from the marketplace, Bex Design buy out Serobex and a new era for the company begins under the leadership of Ian Board.
Continuing the company’s commitment to providing market leading solutions for its customers, Bex Design invest in their first large format flat-bed digital printer. This new technology offers customers numerous design opportunities using a varied choice of materials along with vastly reduced lead times.
Bex Design purchase the very first JETRIX LX5 LED UV flatbed digital printer in the UK. This latest addition to our plant list not only extends our digital print capability even further but also provides the much needed capacity required to fulfil on-going customer and market demands.
