ABOUT ADVANCED CALIBRATIONS LIMITED

Advanced Calibrations Ltd (ACL) has a long-accumulated experience of calibration which started in 1987 with the acquisition of a small service company, Nortec Ltd. It had a modest electrical calibration laboratory operating under BS 5750.

Based in Team Valley, Gateshead since 1990, when it moved into newly-built premises adjacent to the AI Western Bypass, ACL has set out to become the largest independent calibration house in the North of England. Our policy has always been to provide the widest range of high-level calibration facilities at reasonable prices with rapid turn-round.

UKAS (then NAMAS) accreditation was sought by the business in 1990 for the electrical work and the name Advanced Calibrations Ltd was chosen to emphasise the company's concentration on calibration work. Since then ACL has developed from a purely electrical laboratory to its current position of offering the widest in-house range of calibration parameters in the North of England. All calibrations done by ACL are traceable to national or international standards and further details of the calibrations we can carry out in our four airconditioned laboratories are available on this web-site. As a final - and vital - part of our service, we are able to repair the majority of instruments which fail when we calibrate them. Our large technical library covers over 2000 different instruments.

We are able to handle the largest contracts in our four air-conditioned laboratories and can provide many quality-management functions to save customers time and trouble. Where it is not convenient to bring equipment to the laboratory, ACL can carry out calibrations on-site at customers' own premises for most calibration parameters.
