ABOUT TULIPLAND POTATOES LIMITED

Tulipland Potatoes is still very much a family owned potato packing company. Established in 1952 by John Stanberry Snr, and based in Moulton Chapel, near to Spalding in Lincolnshire, the company has progressed a long way since its early days.

The business initially concentrated on buying potatoes from local farms within Lincolnshire and delivering them to the Wholesale markets. In those pre-supermarket days, of course, the market was considerably different and produce was sold unwashed in 56lb paper sacks.

In 1970, John Stanberry Jnr. took over the day-to-day running of the company and gradually steered Tulipland Potatoes into new areas of business. The industry was changing at a rapid rate of knots and Tulipland Potatoes was ensuring that it stayed aheadt of all of the latest trends and developments, offering customers an ever-wider range of products and services.

With the arrival of key personnel in early 1990, the company was able to concentrate more fully on expanding its packhouse: in particular, the baking potato sales and pre packed potatoes. This was the beginning of accelerated growth at the company and allowed it to continue to stay at the forefront of what was becoming an extremely fast-moving market, with standards of quality that were undreamed of 20 years ago.

Today Tulipland Potatoes is one of the UK's leading independent potato washing, grading and packing specialists and has a reputation for competitive prices and superior quality. The company is at the forefront of weight grading technology, with constant investment in new machinery. The highly experienced team now source from all over the UK, not only is the right product procured, but its quality standards are controlled right through to the customer. Tulipland Potatoes has consistently since 2001, received the BRC Global Certificate for food safety, (grade A). In 2016 it achieved the newly introduced AA grade. What's more, aside from offering some of the finest potatoes in the country, Tulipland Potatoes is also an excellent ambassador for the industry as a whole.
