Allied Welsh guide you through every stage of your loft conversion, leaving nothing to chance:
Allied Welsh surveyor will plan a room to your specification FREE of Charge, and give a written fixed-price quotation
Contract agreed, Allied Welsh Architect calls to house for survey, and the plans are drawn
Necessary planning permission and building regulation approval obtained
Do I need planning permission?
Everyone’s situation will vary, it is a complex topic which is why we will check that planning permission is or isn’t required, leave it to us to make sure.
Before your loft conversion is carried out, plans and sections need to be drawn, some need planning (8 weeks), structural calculations, building the stairs, fabricating steel and informing the relevant authorities that we are going to be working on your loft. For us to get everything ready a rough estimate would be between approximately between 12 and 24 weeks.
An independent building control company will check that everything we build complies with current building regulations. This is beneficial for you because you get your building regulations certificate and you can trust us to meet an approved standard. Also our Operation Managers oversee all projects, ensuring our standards are met on your property.
We provide a 5 year insurance backed guarantee on labour and materials. We are also a member of F.O.M.B., and C.I.T.A..
Call the office on the free phone number: 0800 458 3334, and have a chat with the surveyor who called and knows your property, he will help advise you what to do from there.

In over 20 years there has been only one very important change “Allied Welsh”.
Right from day one Allied Welsh were going to be different, the whole project would be carried out with in house expertise and “No Loft conversion would ever be sub contracted out”.
Now 20 years on they are the company’s site operation managers having developed massive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of Loft conversions and gaining qualifications in all areas of site safety so our customers know their home is in safe hands.
Health and Safety become a critical part of our loft conversion process during this period and after several discussions with the health and safety executive, Allied Welsh developed a unique scaffolding system with high level loading bay and heavy duty hoist that meant all heavy materials could be stored and then brought through the roof of the property minimising damage and disruption to the house during construction.
We are proud of Allied Welsh and that is why our vans are always fully sign written and all our staff will always be wearing fully labelled work wear so you know who your dealing with at all times from Mike Dobbs the site manager through the whole site staff including Lee, Nathan, Marc, Martin, Gerald, Matthew, Dewi, Corey, Keith, Karl, Dale, Matthew and Alex.
We will not do work without planning permission or building regulation approval, we will not do work for “ No Vat” (unless you are disabled or your house is listed) and we will not give your loft to Sub contractors , if you want any of these things Allied Welsh would have to kindly say no.
With the engineering background of director Lloyd James and the site expertise of the contracts director David Edgecombe the tone was set for fully qualified workforce carrying out their unique roles and not jack of all trades normally associated with a small Builder or subcontracted out workforce. With fully employed staff there was a pride in the end result not a ” that will do” culture, and with this in mind shortly came the introduction of Richard Lewis and Dean Evans fresh out of their apprenticeship and keen to make their own mark in the company.
Through the years all of our staff have been fully trained through to certification in every discipline relevant to the role they carry out in the company. This commitment to quality and qualification of its workforce was recognised in 2005 with the nationally recognised “Investors in people” award.
It is our belief that Allied Welsh are the only company in the construction industry ever to achieve this.
If on the other hand you want a company proud of its reputation, with its own trade premises where you can come and see your unique 3D drawings, steel structure and staircase take shape visit Mathew, Lee and Gerwyn at our bespoke premises developed over 21 years, and they will be glad to show you around and are available 5 days a week to show you all this or give us a call and either David Adams, Keith Howard or Lloyd will be happy to call to your house to help design the loft of your dreams.
