The purpose of the induction period (minimum of one week) is to help the new employee to settle down confidently into the new job by becoming familiar with the people, surroundings, the job, firm, and the industry. A systematic induction programme is spread out over a number of days, to cover all the ground in the shortest effective time. We monitor the operation of any induction plan to ensure that it is being followed by our managers and supervisors.
