We are very sorry for this disappointing news but unfortunately this is entirely beyond our control.
We are testing several new options for software too which involves hours of hacking away at keyboards, calibrating flight controls and comparing figures to those for the real aircraft. You can be sure though when you come to visit your aircraft will be signed off and ready to go!
We had a call from a good friend of ours the other day who is a captain for a UK airline with a strange request: could we do a skype video call from the simulator to a class of school children? We like a challenge and its always good to be able to help a friend out so last Tuesday at 20,000 in the hold over DSA airport we made contact with the school. The pupils and teachers were asking questions like “how long have you been flying” and “how do I become a pilot”.
Things have really taken off (pun intended!) which means we aren’t always in the operations office where the land line is. We forward the phone (if we don’t forget!) to a mobile however if we are in the sim it may go to the answerphone.
We are passionate about flying and we are passionate about sharing the experience with others. Our aim is to offer at a fair price an experience that will not only put a smile on the face but an insight into what it is like to fly an airliner. The people who sit in the simulator with you are qualified pilots, including pilots who fly the same aircraft type for a living and they are ready to share that experience with you or someone you want to treat. So if you always wanted to know what happens on the flight deck of an airliner, wonder if you could land an airliner or want to brush up your procedures if you are already a pilot then get in touch, or why not treat someone special? As the saying goes, memories are better than dreams!
We always endeavour to answer the phone; even outside ‘normal’ business hours. However there are times such as when we are in the simulator or the shower or driving home when its just not possible, so please leave a message and we will get back to you. Or send an email. Your call really is important to us!
