A group of over 20 volunteers assist in the gallery helping with day to day activities and greeting the public to ensure a warm welcome.
The Harlow Art Trust is a registered charity and took over the running of the gallery in 2011 from Harlow Council. The Harlow Art Trust has been commissioning and purchasing public sculpture since 1953. The trustees have a wide range of professional experience and interest in the management, curating and production of the visual arts and all demonstrate on-going commitment to Harlow.
The Friends of Harlow Sculpture is a voluntary group which supports both the Gibberd Gallery and The Harlow Art Trust in promoting and caring for our town sculptures. They help finance and invigilate the gallery and promote awareness of the collections with guided tours and talks. They provide regular newsletters and interesting, relevant low cost excursions. They believe that taking ownership of the important works of art in Harlow, by their members, ensures their conservation and therefore the enjoyment for local people and the many visitors to the town.
The Gibberd Gallery is a space run by The Harlow Art Trust which is committed to the town's beautification and cultural heritage in Harlow and Essex. Its mission is to;
Bus services from this station provide frequent services to Harlow Town Centre Bus Terminus. From here it is a 5 minute walk to the Gibberd Gallery. From the bus station you should walk up Broadwalk towards Harlow library. Go past the library and you are within The Water Gardens. Keep walking down and turn right at the Esquires Coffee shop continue to the Civic Centre.
