For a young company, J S Berry already has an impressive record in urban and agricultural work. Based close to the M6 motorway on the northern edge of Preston, Lancashire, we have a rural hinterland on one side and rapid road access on the other to the UK North West and beyond.
Despite awful weather and muddy conditions, he jumped in 'to help the lads out' instead of leaving them to it. "It's been hard work," says James. "Nothing's given to you and you have to push hard to build up a reputation."
He branched out on his own and bought his first tractor and digger at 17. Founded in 2006, the company now employs a close knit and reliable team of workers and owns a growing fleet of diggers, wagons, dumpers, rollers, tractors and trailers.
