We (Absolute Performance Ltd) have worked with Chameleon HR for 2 years. As a company who had previously 'faltered' our way through HR issues, it has been a breath of fresh air to work with an HR Consultancy with a difference - one that had the belief and the knowledge to turn us into a company that now realises how powerful managing our people in a collaborative and proactive way can be to our business.

Going back to the basics, Chameleon HR challenged us to think about our company values and how they can be used to drive consistent employment, day to day behaviours and something on which to assess and develop our employees. SCA recently engaged Laura to carry out an HR Health-check and to bring our policy documents up to date. Not only was the consultancy process very clear and we are now confident in our compliance with employment legislation, but the policy documents that Laura created for us to give to our staff are incredibly well laid out and written in clear language that we and our team can understand - no more legalese! The Disability Resource Centre is a local charity. We needed someone that is expert in Human Resources and yet has the ability to work flexibly due to the type of constraints that third sector organisations face. We were very fortunate to secure Chameleon HR’s services. Laura quickly grasped the organisational culture, changes that needed to be made and methods we needed to employ to create that change. Initially this involved an overhaul of our recruitment policy, process and associated systems. We are now able to recruit online and feel sure that this and other suggested improvements will soon result in a wider selection pool.

I would not hesitate in recommending any small business who needs any type of HR help to use Chameleon HR. Chameleon HR helped us sort out all our new contracts, making them fit the culture of our own business and easy for everyone to understand, not using the old HR approach and wording.

Laura also helped us prepare our policies and did it in a way that they worked for us but without a rule-book feel to them.

Not only did Laura help with our contracts and policies, but she takes time to learn about your business and your staff and takes a real interest in learning how you are planning to move forward in the future. I will undoubtedly be using Laura again for anything “HR”.

My company's mission is to provide a truly supportive environment for working parents to effectively juggle a fulfilling career and family life. Our core working hours are 9am-3pm with optional working during the school holidays. Additional hours can be worked from home if staff would like to. Our absence policy is also slightly unusual. If a staff member's child is sick, they can either work from home, not work if that suits them better or catch up on work in the evening, depending on the circumstances. How can these ideals be turned into a contract that satisfies legal requirements, protects the employees and company alike? My requests were not easy but Laura Lewis worked her magic and I am delighted with the resulting documents. She created a friendly, legal and comprehensive contract and set of policies that reflects the brand that I have created. Her professionalism, forward thinking approach and openness to what I wanted to achieve were exactly what I wanted and needed. I cannot recommend Laura highly enough and look forward to working with her more as the barefoot accountant grows.
