Who we are
I first visited New Zealand in 1997 and started New Zealand In Depth in 2003. I've been going back regularly for more than 20 years and have now explored every corner of the country, even the Chatham Islands.
I've always thought of travel as a real privilege, an opportunity to learn something new and to make a positive difference. New Zealand is astonishing in every respect - the scenery, the people, the unique and fragile flora and fauna - and I feel a strong sense of responsibility to help you to have as complete, special and memorable an experience of the country as possible, safe in the knowledge that your visit is helping to conserve and protect this special place.
I joined New Zealand in Depth in November 2014 after moving back to the UK from New Zealand where I had spent the last 11 years working in tourism. I owned a personalised tour company based in Christchurch where I created bespoke touring itineraries and guided clients around the South Island. I can now use this knowledge and passion to create tailor made itineraries that include my favourite places other companies may not know about.
Kathryn puts together your itineraries and travel documents, bringing her creativity to making them look nice as well as looking after the website. She keeps the office organised, making everything tick as it should.
I'm the office "new girl" having joined New Zealand in Depth in 2015. Like Paul I first visited New Zealand in 1997, but unlike Paul my trip was a fast and furious 2 and a half week backpacking extravaganza. I got the wanderlust and have returned a number of times discovering an increasing number of new and beautiful places. As well as creating your itineraries, I'm involved with promotion and the social media side of the business.
