Firstly, I’m passionate about both marketing and great writing. My background and training was in journalism (both news and features), however for the greater part of my career I have worked in PR and marketing. What I love is working with individuals or teams who want to either communicate a message or tell people (perhaps the whole world) about their product or service – taking them right from the beginning to where they need to be.
I took a small career de-tour into managing and growing a large wedding catering business for a short time, which draws on my skills and expertise in both the food and drink sector and events industry.
More recently I have worked in marketing roles for a range of businesses and the education sector. I have also taken on several major contract roles running strategic communications campaigns for local authorities and not-for-profit organisations.
And what about me? I’m a friendly, personable, honest person. I’m not full of marketing jargon and hot air, I give quality, expert advice. Take a look at some of my testimonials to see how clients feel I fit with their business.
Drop me a line to discuss ways I can help you with professional and cost-effective PR and marketing solutions. From small start-up companies to established brands I can tailor a package that suits your business and your budget.
PR people tend to get a bad rap, sometimes deservedly so. You don’t want someone that’s full of hot air and marketing jargon. You want someone who can come up with creative ideas to get your business or organisation the publicity it deserves.
My copywriting experience extends to magazines for local authorities, website re-designs, email marketing and blog articles for major marketing agencies, schools and colleges, and local businesses.
When you mention social media, firms often think: ‘Huh? I can tweet and send out some Facebook posts’. Quite right. But social media for marketing purposes involves a much more structured approach.
Email marketing is a simple and cost effective way to reach your current and prospective clients. Some businesses, however, can find it a minefield…
Why? You need to comply with guidelines on business email marketing, you need to avoid spam filters, and even more importantly you need people to read your emails – not just click ‘delete’. Not easy when all is said and done is it? Sometimes it pays to have someone on board who can make this process quick and simple.
