Chelsy originally started her career as a hairdressing apprentice but quickly decided it wasn’t for her and enrolled at Wakefield College’s Whitwood campus in Castleford to do her Level 2 & 3 beauty therapy qualification. It was at Whitwood, Chelsy was entered into the VTCT World Skills competition representing the Wakefield district. Chelsy won the regional finals, travelling to London as a representative of Yorkshire at the finals. After qualifiying as a beauty therapist Chelsy spent some time in London whilst training for the cruise ships with prestigious company Steiner. She went on to work for Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas and during her break worked in Harrogate at a hotel spa. Chelsy returned to sea this time to work for Onboard Spa onboard the Thomson Celebration. She worked her way up from therapist to spa manager but by 2011 Chelsy wanted to return to the UK. She came home and worked for a gold award Clarins & Decleor salon in Wakefield whilst studying for her Certificate in Education and TAQA award at Huddersfield University. Chelsy has worked for Wakefield College, Wakefield Council and our sister college Intuitions in Harrogate but decided it was time to embark on her own adventure opening up a school with True Beauty founder Elzabeth Speight. Having covered most aspects of the beauty industry including salons, spas, cruise ships, makeup and working on photoshoots, Chelsy is keen to inspire the next generation of Beauty Therapist and help guide them on their way!
