Springbucks Gymnastics Club is a gymnastics and trampolining club for children and young people aged 4-16, based around Marlow and High Wycombe, South Buckinghamshire. The club was started in September 2009 working together with the local schools sports partnership to provide affordable and sustainable gymnastics in local school and is run by Head Coach Ruth Middleton along with a team of paid coaches and parent volunteers. We are affiliated with UK Gymnastics who provide full insurance cover for all our coaches and every child who is a member of the club, and in 2012 we were accredited the Wycombe Sports Mark by Wycombe District Council.
To work together with local schools to provide quality gymnastics and trampoline coaching at an affordable price to enable more children and young people to experience and enjoy our sport in both recreational and competitive settings.
To provide a safe and fun environment for children and young people to develop their skills, improve their agility, balance and coordination and make new friends.
To provide participants with the opportunity to experience the enjoyment and confidence that comes with mastering new skills, competing at their sport and seeing measurable improvement in their performance.
To provide the opportunity for secondary school age students to develop their leadership skills and provide a route into coaching gymnastics and trampolining for young sports leaders.
To provide a club that is open, non-discriminatory and accessible to all regardless of race, colour, creed, ethnic / national origins or disability.
To ensure a duty of care to all members of the club and to provide services in a way that is fair to everyone.
– Ruth has 24 years experience coaching gymnastics and trampolining to all ages in club settings, after school clubs, at leisure centres and in PE lessons, and manages and oversees the running of Springbucks Gymnastics Club as a whole.
We also have a number of junior coaches and parent helpers working for the club who are all insured and either qualified Level 1 Assistant Coaches in either gymnastics or trampolining or working towards their first coaching qualification.
As a community sports club we welcome volunteers of all ages, from Year 6 children right through to parents or teachers. As a sport gymnastics depends heavily on volunteers and on training up young teenagers and parents to become coaches. SPRINGBUCKS GYMNASTICS CLUB LTD
We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all our members. The club believes it is important that all members, coaches, officials and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. The clubs aim is for all members to have fun, whilst learning in a safe and happy environment. These codes of conduct are set to help us achieve our aims.
Only have a go on equipment when asked to by your coach and perform only the skills they are asking you to work on. Do not attempt new skills without the permission of your coach.
Always ask for permission to leave the hall if you need to use the toilet.
Remain in the hall at the end of your session until collected and signed out by a parent or guardian (unless you are in Year 7+ and have permission to walk home / wait outside alone)
If the same child has had a time out in class for more than two weeks in a row the head coach may decide to ask the child to miss the following weeks session to try to help them to understand that their behaviour has consequences and that we require gymnasts to adhere to the club rules in order to keep everyone safe and make the session enjoyable for all involved. If the same thing happens a second time within the same term (i.e. time outs three weeks in a row) the child may be asked to leave the club as we must consider the safety, well-being and enjoyment of the rest of the class as well as the individual involved and it may be that gymnastics is just not the most suitable sport for them.
Help your child enjoy their sport and never force your child to take part.
No photography or videos to be taken during club sessions or competitions. Please ask for permission if you would like your child to pose for a photo for you after their session.
Adhere to all Springbucks Gymnastics Club policies and procedures and all guidelines laid down by UK Gymnastics.
SPRINGBUCKS GYMNASTICS CLUB HAS THE RIGHT TO ASK ANYONE NOT COMPLYING WITH THE CODE OF CONDUCT TO LEAVE A CLUB SESSION OR IN THE CASE OF ONGOING INFRACTIONS TO LEAVE THE CLUB.
Springbucks Gymnastics Club is committed to ensuring that those working with children and vulnerable adults adopt best practice to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the participants, coaches and officials. Any concerns about child welfare, inside or outside of the club, should be reported directly to Tracey McTighe (Club Welfare Officer) on 07581 037372.
Ensuring that coaches and officials have been screened to confirm their suitability to work with children. Where appropriate this will include Criminal Record Bureau disclosure.
