ABOUT PLAYWORLD SYSTEMS ( UK ) LIMITED

Hamstreet Primary Academy (as part of ACE Academy) will support local communities in the education of children to develop respect for themselves, each other, their families and the environment. At Hamstreet Primary Academy, our vision is to offer children a rich, broad and balanced curriculum which provides pupils with a first class, exciting and creative experience. We will develop thoughtful and responsible young people with high self-esteem and with the motivation, skills and knowledge to succeed in life.

· promote an understanding of how citizens can influence decision-making through the democratic process;

To understand how they can influence decision making through a democratic process.

We educate and provide boundaries for pupils to make choices safely, through provision of a safe environment and an empowering education.

Pupils are taught the value and reasons behind laws; that they govern and protect us; the responsibilities that they hold and the consequences when laws are broken. Visits from authorities such as the Police; Fire Service; Ambulance etc. are regular parts of our calendar and help reinforce this message.

We follow the Kent agreed syllabus for RE which provides a broad and balanced education on a range of faiths, religions and cultures.

In keeping with our stated aims we expect every member of the Academy community to show courtesy, care and consideration for each other. Discipline will be firm but fair with expectations for conduct based on the safety and well being of all members of the Academy. Our intention is to provide an environment that will help children develop a sense of value, self-discipline and mutual respect. Strong emphasis is based on good behaviour and the development of responsibility – responsibility to themselves, to each other, to their family and to the academy. Discipline is enforced in such a manner as to encourage an acceptable level of behaviour and attitude at all ages.

This is based on research showing that these particular children perform less well at school than their peers. Pupil Premium is intended to directly benefit the children who are eligible, helping to diminish the difference between them and their classmates

Paying for additional help such as speech and language therapy or family therapy.

: for example, if the money is used to fund an additional teaching assistant. But research shows that the fund does help to narrow gaps between disadvantaged children and their peers, particularly in English and maths

We are required by the government to show that we are using our Pupil Premium fund appropriately

. This is measured through Ofsted inspections and annual performance tables showing the progress made by children who are eligible for Pupil Premium. In addition, we are required to publish details on our website, including how much money we have been allocated, how we intend to spend it, how we spent the previous year’s allocation and how it made a difference to the attainment of disadvantaged pupils.

Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)

Together with the Principal, the governing body has overall responsibility for the running of the Academy. Governors are involved in deciding academy policies, allocating the budget and appointing staff. No special qualifications are needed and the most important thing is to have a keen interest in the Academy and be prepared to play an active part in the governing body’s work. In order to support governors in their work, full training is provided.

If a parent would like to stand for election, or to nominate someone else, when a vacancy arises, they will be invited to provide, with his/her nomination, a short personal statement (maximum 100 words). The statement should only include biographical information, your reasons for wanting to be a parent governor and the contribution you believe you can make to the governing body.
