As a young man I completed 5 years as a craft apprentice and was awarded London City and Guilds and O.N.C in Building Construction. I attended The Bristol College of Technology . The name of this college is likely to have changed over the years. In the fullness of time I set up a Construction Company, building new homes and carrying out major conversions on old stone disused farm buildings. During this time I became interested in remedial damp-proofing and timber treatment. This led me on to setting up a specialist company for damp and timber treatment. Following a period of study I was awarded CTIS; CRDS followed by CSRT by the British Wood Preserving and Damp-proofing Association now known as The Property Care Association. The Company became a full member of the PCA. At that time I decided to cease trading with the construction company in favour of damp and timber treatments etc. etc. This preservation company had been established for some twenty years and in 2009 it was time to sell it on to a new owner.
We are a completely independent remedial surveying practice operating out of the Taunton area and covering many parts of the South-West. We specialise in all types of dampness, condensation control, timber infestation (woodworm), timber decay (wet rot & dry rot), structural waterproofing (tanking) and cavity wall ties.
As independent surveyors, we are not associated with any contractor or manufacturer and are therefore unbiased in our evaluation of problems or the possible necessary remedial works associated with them. Our surveyors are fully qualified with the CSRT (Certified Surveyor in Remedial Treatments) and have over twenty years’ experience in the domestic and commercial sectors.
