Illuminate Skin Clinics was founded by Dr Sophie Shotter, and is based in King’s Hill in Kent. Dr Sophie graduated with degrees in Medicine and Genetics in Relation to Medicine from the University of Leeds. She has pursued training in the NHS in anaesthetics.
Dr Sophie started practicing cosmetic medicine alongside her NHS job, but soon found her business had grown significantly and made the decision to devote herself full-time to cosmetic medicine. This is when Illuminate Skin Clinics was founded.
The Keogh Report made several recommendations to improve safety in the non-surgical cosmetic medicine industry. Whilst the government is working to develop these, this is a slow process. Dr Sophie is passionate about ensuring patients are well-educated and can research their practitioners thoroughly. Illuminate Skin Clinics and Dr Sophie are registered with Save Face. This is a register of doctors and nurses who have met minimum standards with regards to safety and customer services, and as part of this have undergone inspection of their clinic premises.
