Who We Are
YPP Groundworks is the specialist groundworks division of Yorkshire Pro Paving, founded by Tom Armitage in 2009. With almost 20 years’ experience in all aspects of civil engineering groundworks, Tom continues to be hands-on; ensuring that all projects are completed to his own high standards. We are a family run business, with 4 members of Tom’s family currently working for YPP Groundworks either onsite or in the office.
Whilst we are proud to have an already experienced and highly skilled workforce, as a company we seek to improve our team with regular training. We recognise that through the development of individuals we create a stronger workforce; ensuring a higher level of service for a clients and a safe working environment for our colleagues. All of our workforce are accredited with CITB; holding a CSCS and/or CPCS card and the required categories and endorsements to operate
We are firm believers in working closely with our clients throughout the installation programme in order to ensure that even the most complex projects are completed within agreed timescales, on budget and safely. The quality of workmanship, flexibility and attention to detail is frequently remarked upon by our clients and we have an excellent record for repeat business.

Although not every member of the team belongs to Tom’s family, there is a strong bond running throughout the workforce, which has been forged through many years working together and friendships away from the site. We are very proud of our staff retention record and believe that a long serving workforce is the best way to ensure that our high standards are maintained.
Family Run Business
YPP Groundworks is a family owned and run business, established by Managing Director Tom Armitage in 2012.
Having initially focussed the business on domestic work, Tom soon began tendering for and winning commercial scale projects. We now employ a full time Contracts Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Project Manager, have full admin support, working alongside a diverse and experienced team of groundworkers and pavers.
Family values are at the core of YPP Groundworks and four members of Tom’s family are currently working for the company. We are fully committed to the CSCS industry standard, with all team members holding the relevant card for their specialisation. In addition, all of our plant operators hold CPCS accredited cards for the machines that they operate.
