We’re here to give you or your loved ones some amazing, life-affirming experiences. Every balloon flight is a unique adventure - with a great mix of people and stunning sights to see. You or your loved ones will enjoy a collection of awe-inspiring moments, jaw dropping vistas and experiences to cherish.
There may be the odd occasion when Captain Mike is unavailable, in which case Cotswold Balloon Safaris will use another pilot who will be fully qualified and just as much fun to fly with.
Once we’ve inflated the balloon, it’ll be time to get on board, there’s a bit of a knack to it, but we’re here to help you.
Give a cheery wave to your friends and relatives and then give yourself over to the experience. Enjoy the wonderful spectacle of the Cotswolds like you’ve never seen them before. Enjoy the company, the incredible photo opportunities – and the chilled champagne.
That’s not quite the end of the experience. Get involved and give us a hand to pack the balloon away. It’ll be a very quick process with all hands on deck, so we’d love you to pitch in and help out. It’s a bit like packing away a huge tent. Wait till you see how small it gets!
Now it’s time to head back to the launch field – strictly on terra firma this time, I’m afraid. But at least there’s a hero’s welcome waiting for you as your friends and relatives crowd round, eager to hear all about it.

Mike isn’t just one of the most well-travelled balloon pilots in the world, he’s one of the most well-trained. He caught the flying bug shortly after he left the British Army, where he served all over the world with the Royal Green Jackets. And he got his first taste of ballooning when he helped out with the world-famous Bristol Balloon Fiesta. In fact, Mike took his very first flight with one of ballooning’s early pioneers – Tom Sage.
… Captain Mike is a people person. If you or your guests are feeling a little bit nervous, he’ll help you relax. If you want to get involved, he’ll let you. And if you want to ask him about his adventures around the world, please do. Ask him to tell you about the passenger who turned up wearing his pyjamas and dressing gown, or the gentleman who decided to have a shave in the middle of the flight!
