Mindful approach to Prevent Strategy. “Excellent facilitator & interactive game, very effective and fun. Safeguarding perspective interesting, “Information presented in an easy and understandable manner – really enjoyed it” “Raised awareness and helped to challenge stereotypes” “Content was good, needed more time”
I enjoyed the event, the students engaged well, your delivery was confident and presented well, I particularly liked the way you got down to a level they understood as males with you being a female, they showed you respect which earned you the right to lease with them. The games you brought into play seemed to go down well and at the end of it all they enjoyed the group photo, also some of the answers they gave for feedback were real positive for example “I thought I would be wasting 3 hours of my time coming here but I really enjoyed it”. I also liked some of the terminology used and enjoyed how you worded certain things above all a really enjoyable event. I hope you continue to keep empowering minds it is a great thing as the mind is a powerful thing if used right. Keep doing what you do.
-The training gave me an insight to The level of information in regards to how radicalization can be portrayed by the media, the different manners in how media can manipulate the ideology society and those within as Islamic environment who may have a lack of understanding on how sensitive this topic is within our community. -Understanding ideas on what is already out there, how we can engage and have difficult conversations with young people and their families. -Good input into different scenarios regarding radicalization safeguarding. -I think it gave me a much clear insight into the terms of extremism and Radicalization knowing what we are looking out for, supporting families to have open conversations. -Topic breakdown was good and delivered in a structured manner which makes it easier to retain. -The way the training was delivered was not complex which made it simple and easy to understand. Many interesting and important issues/ points were raised on how to combat/ tackle issues surrounding children. Looking out for little signs – Understanding different ideologies and develop an open way of thinking. Finding out how to deal with children who may have questionable thoughts. – Thought the training was good teacher training.
The beginning part was very outspoken, raw yet highly relevant to today’s society. It emphasised the nature of certain individuals and exposed their behaviour, which allowed the children to understand racism further. I think this session was very beneficial for the youngsters and ourselves as team leaders. It enabled ourselves to understand the definition of discrimination and would make yourself think twice before making racist remarks and making people insecure. Gives you more understanding of behaviour towards others. The group really engaged with the session and helped my young people express their feelings. Definitely worth its weight in gold and would love this activity in every police summer camp.
-I found it interesting and enjoyed it. it makes us think hate crime does not happen but it does exist and we should be more aware of it -I think you were a good teacher and explained the topic well, I found the lesson interesting and would like to learn more about it. – The lesson made me question myself today and I was really into it. – The workshop was very interesting because you talk about and it gives confidence to make a good impact and stand up for a victim. -Amazing, open, honest, eye opening. -I thought the lesson was very interesting. It made me change my mind about how I see things, like if someone is experiencing hate crime . it will help them and somehow report it, I wont let it slip away
I would say to any young adult who is involved in crime or isn’t that if they would like to better themselves then they should speak with Sofia. She has helped me gain confidence and has helped with gaining work . The impact she has had on me has even helped my family. It has eased their worries, that Imay get in trouble again, but once they saw what Sofia had done for me they were extremely happy. She has helped me re-bond with them because they have seen me work which is something I have never done before.
