Our products are manufactured by different process techniques, each selected according to the engineering demands of the application and the economic requirements of the project.
Our TERRA Thermoplastic trough system is injection moulded from virgin quality polypropylene. This ensures a consistently high quality end product, as opposed to the arbitrary quality of the more commonly used recycled product.
During manufacture, pellets of thermoplastic resin are introduced into the machine via a hopper. Once the resin reaches the heated barrel it becomes molten, and is then fed by a reciprocating screw into a temperature controlled split mould via a channel system of gates and runners. The screw plasticises the polymer, whilst simultaneously injecting it under high pressure into the mould, where it assumes the shape of the part being produced. Because of the significant costs involved in tooling, the injection moulding of thermoplastics is mainly used for high volume production.

Castioni Kunststoffe is our Swiss partner, with over 25 years experience in the design, manufacture and installation of composite structures. Their particular focus is in the provision of trackside cable management systems for rail networks around the world. Their products are in use from the hostile environment of the Artic in Greenland to the blistering heat of the Sahara in Saudi Arabia, but also more often in the temperate climate of Europe. The impressively, structurally sound ARCOsystem is an elevated system that meets all international standards when supported at 6 metres centres, thereby minimising space limiting issues in already congested areas, whilst providing faster installation times than conventional systems. Meantime the TERRAsystem ground based cable trough system effectively eliminates the need for lifting equipment during installation, whilst enabling faster and lower cost installations than the often used concrete alternatives. Fibrolux GmbH is our German partner, a leading manufacturer and fabricator of glass reinforced polymer products. Their principal manufacturing process is pultrusion, used to produce myriad custom profiles for a host of speciality applications, as well a range of structural shapes used in the fabrication of lightweight structures for demanding use. As well as a wide range of gratings and deck profiles, other access engineering needs are met with ladders and handrail systems to satisfy international standards of performance. Their considerable design expertise has provided innovative solutions for housing electrical switchgear and mechanical equipment, as well platform extensions, pedestrian bridges, train washing equipment, fencing and an impressive railtrack crossing system.
