“Those who can, should do and teach” - Most of our practitioners and Directors are established industry professionals. Many of our practitioners work in the countries leading Drama Schools including RADA, Central School of Speech and Drama, East 15, Rose Bruford and The Oxford School of Drama. The founders of Actors Training are also associates of the National Youth Theatre and one is a Youth Mentor for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Our professional directors have directed in some of the top theatres worldwide.
Adam Leese - Company Director
James Simmons - Company Director
James trained with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain and at LAMDA. He has worked in Repertory theatre in Birmingham, Southampton, Cambridge, Worcester, Salisbury, Manchester, Scarborough, (for Alan Ayckbourn), Nottingham, Leicester and Liverpool. He toured the UK and the Far East playing Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing for the Oxford Stage Company. He spent three years with the Royal Shakespeare Company at Stratford, the Barbican and touring abroad, playing a variety of roles including Gratiano in the Merchant of Venice, Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Richmond in Richard III and Edward Longresse in Robert Holman’s Today.
For Tour de Force he has appeared in Beckett’s, Play at the Riverside Studios, and played the title role in, Vortigern at the Bridewell. James has played Henry V, Macbeth and Benedick at the Arundel Festival. James has worked for Kenneth Branagh’s Renaissance Theatre Company playing, Titus Lartius in Coriolanus and Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night and at the Royal National Theatre in Alan Ayckbourn’s, Mr. A’s Amazing Maze Plays. He has appeared as Jack Absolute in The Rivals at Chichester, on tour and in the West End and played Kipps in the long running West End hit The Woman in Black. James played the Player King in Sir Trevor Nunn's acclaimed production of Hamlet at the Old Vic.
He has been a member of the BBC Radio Repertory Company where his broadcasts included, Don Quixote, Great Expectations, Macbeth, Citizens, War and Peace and Hamlet.
