Brad is an experienced Finance Director who is now enjoying using his skills across many different industries to help his portfolio of clients. Having qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 2000, after completing a Law Degree, he has held various senior roles in a variety of different industries.
Starting his career in management consulting in 1996, he has returned to this arena, specialising in financial planning and reporting. He has the ability to forge strong relationships with his clients and is of the opinion that business should be fun.
Sarah qualified as a solicitor in 2004 and spent 13 years in private legal practice before joining Whittock Consulting. Whilst in practice her areas of specialism were employment law and commercial law. She provided advice to business clients on a multitude of matters including drafting of contracts, company re-organisations and tribunal work.
Sarah now acts as a non-practicing solicitor and brings her wealth of experience to Whittock Consulting to advise business clients on the intricate world of employment law and to also help provide a company secretarial service. She provides practical and effective advice to her clients to enable them to achieve the results they want to obtain. She also assists clients by making them aware of their regulatory and compliance needs.
Sarah is professionally trained and qualified as a solicitor (she can be found on the Roll of Solicitors as maintained by the Law Society). However, she has chosen to provide her advice to clients as a legal consultant rather than practising solicitor.
The Legal Services Act 2007, sets out six Reserved Legal Activities which only authorised personnel can carry out. This requires regulation via the Solicitors Regulatory Authority. WCL’s areas of law (employment and company secretary) fall into Unreserved Legal Activities and therefore WCL does not need to be regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority.
WCL is able to avoid the costly overheads that law firms traditionally have to pay. Therefore you will receive seasoned professional advice but at a more cost effective price.
She has worked in both the public and private sector in a variety of accountancy roles. She has had many analytical roles involving budgeting, forecasting, flash reporting as well as management accountancy roles. She has always enjoyed working with clients and business partners and being able to translate financial data into meaningful and useful information, upon which business decisions can be made.
Teresa has many years experience working within different business sectors. She has held a variety of accountancy/bookkeeping roles and she handles sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, analysis and control accounts, either on Excel or various computer programmes. She is also adept at offering Sage training to clients. Furthermore, she is familiar with foreign currency accounts, Paypal and Amazon accounts amongst others. Teresa also brings to the company significant knowledge of Cloud based software packages, allowing WCL and the client to work in tandem on their accounts.

COMPANY SECRETARY
Whilst you may not need to appoint a company secretary (subject to your articles of association) the work of the company secretary remains. It is useful to have someone who can:
Remind relevant parties of when documents are due for filing at Companies House, this typically includes accounts, annual returns and relevant resolutions of the company;
Pick up on compliance and regulatory matters that may apply to the company;
Ensure that company books reflect historical decisions and to maintain those books moving forward. Such decisions would include the change in directors, the issue of shares and the transfer of shares; and
Advise on the company’s central documents such as articles of association, shareholder agreements, terms and conditions and other essential documents.
