Alex is the entrepreneurial talent behind iMAG Displays and holds the key to the technology and AV partners side of the business. With exceptional technical skills, high business acumen and a unique insight into what the industry future holds, Alex ensures the future is bright for the fast-growing company and its clients, ahead of the curve.
Budding technology entrepreneur and adrenaline junkie Alex Strachan started his AV and technical event production career at the young age when he took part in work experience at a local production company, he soon packed up his life to move to Guernsey and commence a permanent production company contract as soon as he came of age at sixteen where he progressed over a period of around five years.
Alex then decided to go out on his own and founded a commercial lighting company earning him the start of a long reputation as a competent and genuine business owner. After creating a second and slightly larger company which specialized in event lighting, Alex then joined forces with an established LED screen business where he adapted to the greater national audience and became an expert in LED screen technology.
For Alex, event production should be nothing but exceptional and there was no company that had the collaborative approach he envisioned in the market. With substantial knowledge of the industry and technology under his belt, Alex realized with his trustworthy reputation and solid connections he had gained through a decade in the industry, he could finally utilize his extended talent and create his flagship business.
Alex was fortunate enough to gain a loyal team who believed in him and his perspective of the industry and joined him on creating a truly unique organization, specialising in LED screen hire and event production, which they called iMAG Displays. Learning from their observations from decades of combined experience of the industry, the team launched iMAG on the basis of a new kind of business model – market challengers. They built their values on challenging the industry on product and service quality, communication, project management, technical expertise, and innovation, and so far their portfolio of clients suggests they are doing a pretty good job!
Alex isn’t just making waves in the AV production industry, outside of work, Alex spends his rare free time jet skiing on the south coast or taking part in other adrenaline and high-speed sports before kicking back and relaxing with his Labradors.
Charli was born and raised in Edinburgh and excelled in many subjects (except sport!) during her education, both in her home town and Romsey. Charli then started her career within the financial industry before quickly moving to a global leader in talent and career management solutions. From the start of her career Charli has worked alongside blue chip companies including BAE Systems, P&O, and Marks & Spencer, designing and delivering solutions to align talent and business strategy. Charli progressed to Sunday Times Top 100 Companies winner, Tate, where her exceptional abilities were soon invested in as she was selected for the “Managing Consultant fast track programme’’. She quickly established and expanded the temporary division, winning board recognition; and successfully won an award winning contract worth over £4m in the UK alone.
Charli then began working with an established local production company, where she soon met Alex Strachan, a reputable entrepreneur and successful business owner within the AV industry. Charli then took the biggest leap of faith in her career and embarked on co-founding iMAG Displays a uniquely modelled business specialising in LED and Event Production with Alex – creating and shaping the client service side of the company, to her exacting standards.
Charli created iMAG’s winning service reputation where every client is given the dedication they deserve and she ensures that help is cascaded to project managers accurately to guarantee skills and competencies are reflected in the right ways.
