We at Miller Commercial Brokers believe in understanding our clients in order to get them the best cover for the best price. Based in the Staffordshire Moorlands, we have a varied and fast growing client base including many businesses who have specialised insurance needs.
James Miller, our founder, enjoyed a globe-trotting career in marine insurance in his twenties. On returning to the UK he worked as an account handler and underwriter. This gave him the perspective to understand that lots of businesses were paying over the odds for inappropriate levels of cover. He knew he had the industry experience, expertise and contacts to source them better deals and decided to become a broker.
However, we’re not just interested in selling you the product. We want the insurance to work for you, so if you need to make a claim we’ll be on hand to help with that. We’ve been known to get to the scenes of fires before the fire brigade has finished putting them out!
We also hope to keep on working for our customers. Things change in business, sometimes very quickly, so we’ll keep an eye on you and make sure you’re getting the right deal year after year.
James Miller started his insurance career working for a leading international insurance broker. He was based in Dubai and covered the Indian sub-continent as a Marine Account Executive. He later worked for a large engineering insurance company as an Account Handler specialising in construction. He moved on to work for a large independent insurance broker where his duties included underwriting. He then went to gain further experience with a smaller insurance broker for some years before setting up Miller Commercial Brokers.
Outside the office James is a prominent figure in local business networking groups and is Vice President of Staffordshire Moorlands Chamber of Commerce. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar and collecting vinyl records.
