Alphabet School Books Ltd is a small private company established in February 2013 to produce books for young children to adults.
We, directors David Thomas and Angela Thorp, set up the company to produce our own books but may in the future publish other books. We would like to help people get published, as it is not easy, if we can. We recognise we need to establish ourselves in the marketplace before we are able to do that.
We wanted to add a personal touch to our books and feel ultimately producing them ourselves is the key to providing you with a quality product. We hope to ensure our books are printed in the United Kingdom.
When I think back to how many people my mother helped whilst being a young mother bringing up her own children as well, what a woman. Four years old and off to St Brides Infant School, I can remember kids crying on their first day, not me I loved it and from there to Old Trafford Primary School which was great as well. I had a Christmas Day mentality about infant and primary school to me it was just magic learning about the world, the seeds for future travelling were well and truly sown.
From primary straight into secondary school next door, where if you were not very good at sport you might as well not bother turning up. Football was the school obsession and all five years were expected to win their league and the expectation usually came to fruition. Being a sport fanatic watching as well as taking part I slotted straight in. Living in the slums you couldn’t afford a school uniform this was in the days before benefits were given to parents to help them provide for their children. These were difficult times that are hard to imagine now.
At secondary school I formed a great bond with a lad called Leroy Smith who was still a friend until his sad death a few years ago. Sadly a particular a teacher warned me about keeping company with a black kid. He told me he would make life hell for me if my friendship continued, to be fair he kept to his word, terrorising me but he lost as Leroy remained a great friend and went on to become a pop star collecting two hit records in the process.

Alphabet School Books Ltd is a small private company established in February 2013 to produce Author/Director David Thomas’s books. David has written over 20 books which we plan to publish over the next few years. Alphabet School and Potty Poems are now available.
