Set up by Will Kildare in 2005, the 'Star Swimming Academy' operates learn to swim sessions from six venues across Merseyside. In addition to these sites, the Star Swimming Academy is the main service provider for swimming instruction for four schools in Knowsley.
The academy also specialises in lessons for individuals with special needs and has provided services to schools specialising in children with disabilities/special needs, local communitiy groups, national and international charities.
Star Swimming Academy recognises and accepts its responsibility to safeguard the health and welfare of children under its care by protecting them from physical, sexual or emotional harm; and from neglect or bullying. It is essential that children and young people participating in our swimming lessons and other pool activities are able to do so in a safe and secure environment.
Star Swimming Academy is totally committed to raising awareness of child protection in swimming; and takes every possible measure to ensure that swimming is a safe and secure experience for children.

All Star Swimming Academy officials are therefore required to undertake Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks through its Disclosure service. This service enables organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors to make safer recruitment decisions by identifying candidates who may be unsuitable for certain work, especially that involving children or vulnerable adults.
All Star Swimming Academy officials are also governed by the ASA "Code of Ethics".

The Walking With Giants Foundation is a Liverpool based national charity helping individuals and families affected by Primordial Dwarfism from around the UK and other parts of the world.
For the last couple of years the Star Swimming Academy has helped the WWGF during their international convention which is held in Liverpool every year.
Will and his team provide support to children and adults during swimming sessions, along with bringing a lot of fun, happiness into their lives and big smiles to their faces.
