About County Insurance Services
County Insurance Services provide a wide range of policies to both private individuals and the corporate sector. Whilst we operate from one central location in Oxfordshire, our wholesale schemes division provides an expanding range of policies through a national network of insurance brokers.
The company was established in 1984 by Malcolm Sydenham, Director, having previously managed a highly successful sales force in the South West and spent eight years in the assurance industry. His son, Tim Sydenham, Director, heads up the business insurance team. Tim graduated with a degree in Urban Estate Management and after a period spent overseas in the surveying profession he joined the family business in 1994.
We are proud to have a team of high-calibre staff, dedicated to providing a personal, friendly and professional service to our customers. These qualities align with our corporate principles and we’re working hard to maintain this exemplary level of client servicing as the business grows. Empowering our members of staff with the necessary skills and qualifications to be able to deliver this superior service level to our customers is a key initiative for the business.
County Insurance Services offer regular training opportunities to employees and actively encourage them to pursue professional qualifications and complete specialist industry courses.
At County Insurance Services we also take our corporate social responsibilities very seriously. We currently provide support to a number of local charities and organisations. Recent community initiatives include the provision of work experience opportunities for local school children and sponsorship of a number of local events. We’re equally as committed to reducing the environmental impact of our daily business activities. Our head office in Oxfordshire is a modern, low energy facility with many energy saving features such as automatic light sensors. As a business, we actively recycle plastics, card and paper and will choose recycled consumables where possible.
It was Monday 23rd December 2013 and we were in the middle of a really bad period of storms. I was getting ready to leave the business to go on holiday when the wind ripped the roof off our stable block. My priority was to get the situation resolved as quickly as possible. Our relationship with County Insurance Services started in 2012. They had visited our premises to undertake a full insurance review and recommended a number of changes to our level of cover. As a result, when the Loss Adjuster arrived on Christmas Eve, the day after being instructed, they were happy that we were adequately insured. They made me a fair offer and we settled the claim there and then with a handshake. Thankfully a potentially complex process was actually made very easy.
