A Potted History of the Company
Brett Gardner was established in 1987, in Weybridge, by Don Brett and Simon Gardner, as an independent firm of Chartered Surveyors. Don concentrated on property advice for Housing Associations with whom he had previously worked and soon became known for offering a specialised service in this field, thus expanding his portfolio of clients.
In 2012 Don Brett also retired from the business but remained in touch as a consultant and Philip acquired the company. It was then incorporated into Brett Gardner Ltd whilst still offering the same customised service to its valued Social Housing clients.
Philip is now the Co-director of the business with his wife Maureen, who runs the administration and accounts, ably assisted by Pauline Kelson who has been with the company for many years and is well-known to most of the clients. The professional work is carried out largely by Philip with the help of a small group of consultant Surveyors.

Welcome to Brett Gardner Ltd – the social housing/Housing Association specialists. Brett Gardner Ltd is a small firm of professional Chartered Surveyors, established over 25 years ago, specialising in providing advice to Registered Social Housing Landlords on all aspects of their property transactions.
We provide RICS ‘Red Book’ Valuations for all their property movements and requirements. We also provide General Practice advice on a number of other residential and commercial property matters as shown within our website.
Brett Gardner Ltd has a Quality Assurance Management scheme in place under ISO 9001 : 2008 registered with U.R.S. (United Registrar of Systems). Our Quality Assurance manual is updated or revised every 6 months, and audited internally and externally by URS every year.
The firm is also a member of ‘Construction Line’, a UK government certification system for suppliers and users of services, which is utilised by a number of our Housing Association clients.
