MicroBioSensors™are early warning systems for microbial infection, designed to be complementary to and compatible with existing (lab-based) infection control processes and techniques.
Microbiosensor is a medical device company developing disposable point-of-care safety monitors for detecting microbial infection.
Microbiosensor Ltd is addressing this need for improved infection monitoring head-on, by offering the market unique, robust and inexpensive diagnostic solutions. Our devices provide continuous safety monitoring, enhancing patient care by allowing earlier intervention than is currently possible. This will improve treatment outcomes and ultimately help in the fight against multi-drug resistance, by improving the management of the remaining arsenal of effective antibiotic drugs.
Gordon is a co-founder of Microbiosensor Ltd and an experienced entrepreneur / manager with a successful track record of commercialising biotech innovations developed at UK universities. Gordon has helped found and grow a number of university spinout and high-growth technology companies.

At Microbiosensor we are developing a platform technology to address the need for improved infection diagnosis across a wide range of medical applications, from wound care to renal dialysis.
MicroBioSensors™ will alert patients and / or physicians to an escalating infection via a visible all-or-nothing colour change in the device and help target appropriate intervention in a more timely and effective manner than is currently possible.
Key benefit of the MicroBioSensor™ platform
Requires little or no training for patients or healthcare workers – a simple all-or-nothing-colour-change provides an easy-to-interpret signal.
