Care Provider.
NR Care is a new and innovative domiciliary care provider for the residents of Norfolk. In addition to providing reliable care that is responsive to the needs of our service users, we are a dynamic, award-winning business and a good employer.
NR Care was founded in December 2012 by Rebekah Bedingfield and Nathan Slater. Both company Directors have worked at ground level in Health and Social Care, and wanted to use their vast experience to bring a high quality level of care to Norfolk. In the space of just three years, NR Care went from a startup in a spare room to a multi award-winning business with over 50 staff and a turnover of £1 million.
Rebekah Bedingfield has approximately ten years’ experience as a manager in the Domiciliary Care sector. Before founding NR Care, she set up Clark James Healthcare, and worked for Pulse Community Healthcare, Careforce and Care UK. Rebekah has completed her Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management with the Chartered Management Institute, and has completed IOSH Training.
Nathan Slater has a background in engineering, and worked as a welder before finding his vocation for care work in 2008. After working as a Personal Assistant, he went into the residential care sector for several years before transferring to community care services, where he met Rebekah. Their shared beliefs about how home care should be delivered led them to set up NR Care at the end of 2012.
NR Care is
registered with the Care Quality Commission
, a National body that regulates the conduct of Health and Care services in England. We ensure that at all times we comply with the CQC’s requirements of The Essential Standards of Quality and Safety. When the CQC conduct routine checks, they use their Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs) to ask five questions: is the service safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led? We use these KLOEs as guidelines for everything we do at NR Care.
We are
Despite being a new business, we’ve already picked up a number of prestigious awards. In 2013, NR Care was a
Regional winner at the Ready for Business Awards
. As a new business, we were thrilled to be chosen as Best Growth Potential Start-Up in the East for our enterprise and innovation.
in 2013 and again in 2016. We were chosen as one of 50 local small to medium sized businesses because we have ambition, drive, and will make an impact on the Norfolk economy – and we couldn’t be prouder.
At NR Care, we believe that collaborating with other organisations is a vital step towards providing high quality care. We work with a number of other care providers, with the aim of improving the quality of care throughout Norfolk.
All of our staff are DBS checked. Even though we only provide care services for adults, we also check our staff against the Children’s Barred List – the list of individuals considered unsuitable for working with children under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (SVGA) 2006.
We are currently collaborating with the Norfolk and Suffolk Dementia Alliance (NSDA), who are giving two members of our staff specialist dementia care training to become Dementia Care Coaches and enhance the experience of our service users experiencing dementia.
The Carers Agency Partnership (CAP) is commissioned by the Norfolk County Council and the Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Groups, and provides services for cares via seven local carers’ organisations, including local branches of Age UK and MIND. We work with the CAP to provide short-term respite care for local people who look after someone who is ill, disabled, has a mental health problem or suffers from substance misuse.
We also work with Marie Curie, who provide care and support for people living with a terminal illness and their families, taking some of their night shifts.
