Previously, Philipson Driving School, New Starters was established to provide young and old drivers access to a private 60 hectare site, near Hadrian's Camp, Carlisle to gain experience without worrying about other traffic situations.
Opened in September 2012, New Starters Driving School is open to anyone from the age of 14 onwards who want to learn to drive without the risks of other vehicles.
I started New Starters Driving School in 2010. I believe in making "Learn to Drive" as easy and fun as possible. I enjoy the satisfaction of helping people change their lifes for the better.
I adapt my teaching style to meet your learning style. This will help you gain a valuable life skill and change your way of life and job prospects. I really enjoy meeting lots of different people.
I get a real buzz from helping people to learn to drive.I am very aware no two people are the same and I believe that learning to drive should be fun.

when choosing a driving instructor the most important criteria was there experience and i wanted someone with a high pass rate, I was taught by John Collins and passed first time. When I was learning to drive John made it easier than I had expected it to be and I found that his teaching methods were good for me. I would recommend new starters driving school as I passed my test on my first attempt and found them very helpful.
When looking for an instructor in carlisle I had to find one that was encouraging and helpful, I was taught by John wardle and found that learning to drive was better than I had expected it to be. My instructors teaching methods were very helpful and I would definitely recommend new starters driving school as they have great instructors that made learning to drive enjoyable. I passed my test on my first attempt.

When choosing an instructor the most important criteria was the reviews that He had seen and heard about the instructor. When learning to drive he said that his instructor had made it much easier than he had expected it to be and found his teaching methods amazing. We asked Jack if he was likely to recommend us he said yes, because his instructor John Collins was good with explaining and helping when he was struggling. We asked if there was anything he would improve about our service and Jack answered that there was nothing he would improve on.

when choosing a driving school we asked Will what the most important criteria was, he said that they had to be successful and affordable and also had to have good reviews. When learning to drive Will said it was less stressful than he thought it would be and that his instructors teaching methods were very good. Will told us that he would definitely recommend us and the reason was because we are very helpful, he also added that he wouldn't improve anything from our driving school.

When looking for an instructor Joseph said the most important thing was that he was able to do some of his learning before he was 17 years old that's one of the reasons he chose new starters driving school as we have an off road driving site for under 17s where he covered a lot of his driving, the other thing he wanted was an instructor with a good reputation and pass rate. When learning to drive with John Collins, Joseph said it was a lot easier than he had expected and his teaching methods were excellent. When asked if he would recommend us Joseph said yes and he already has.
