Zest’s Mission
Chris has worked in the construction industry since 1993 working on all types of projects including public sector works such as hospitals, schools and police stations, through to commercial buildings including office blocks, warehouse facilities and retail units. Chris has also gained specialist knowledge in the Telecoms and Energy markets having held senior positions within market leading business’ working in this sector.
Having held operational, commercial and business development positions for various companies Chris has developed a knowledge of all aspects of the business having been involved in projects from inception to completion. During his career Chris has obtained a HNC in construction management, a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and a post graduate diploma in Business Administration.
Chris prides himself on working collaboratively throughout his career to develop long term working relationships and the trust of his colleagues and clients. Chris is committed to achieving improvement in all aspects of life and as a director of Zest Projects he wants to drive continuous improvement throughout the business.
Daren has many years design experience in the structural/civil engineering industry commencing in 1987. Daren oversees the delivery of all Zests work streams ensuring we deliver a high quality service in the timescales required. Daren is responsible for managing and maintaining the planning, quality, HS&E and commercial delivery of these projects in accordance with client parameters. Daren has a vast amount of technical experience including a well-rounded structural experience of main construction methods and onto all aspects of civil/structural engineering of small/ medium and larger scale construction projects. The latter part of Darens career has seen him involved in a wider range of design experience such as geotechnical, piled design, monopole/lighting column/wind turbine and lattice tower design and RC/precast foundation design. He has a full appreciation of the overall construction process from acquisition and planning through to construction, installation and commissioning. Prior to joining Zest Daren had spent 11 years working for one of the UK’s largest construction contractors in the position of Design Manager.
Rob Crutchley has over 31 years’ experience in the Telecoms industry with 25 of those years working in the Mobile Telecoms Industry. Rob has held several Senior Executive & Senior Management positions in the industry involved in Network Share, Network Deployment, Managed Services, Operations, Business Development, Project/Construction Management all predominantly in new start up telecommunication ventures/environments and more recently specializing in Network Share Ventures.
Rob has just successfully completed a role as MD of Mosaic, the network share in Dublin, Ireland between 3 and Meteor, he has also worked in Network Share in the UK as Head of Deployment with MBNL and was previously MD of CTIL the Network Share between O2UK & Vodafone. Rob was Network Director for O2 UK and also worked at executive level with Ericsson having been part of the largest ever managed services deal to run 3’s UK 3G network. Rob was previously a senior executive at 3UK as the Network Rollout Director, fully responsible for a budget of over 1.5 billion pounds to design and build the new third generation mobile phone network, managing a peak workforce of over 700 people to deliver over 7,500 sites which at the time was the fastest 3G rollout in Europe, with the added challenge of being first mover in 3G technologies. Rob previously spent 4 years at Board Director Level helping to create the telecoms side of a new wireless site infrastructure business for Crown Castle in the UK and several other Western European countries. In his European role he was responsible for heading up the business development team establishing presence in several European countries and responsible for putting together several multi-million dollar acquisition deals. Previously Rob has spent time with various mobile operators specializing in the development of wireless networks in the UK, USA and Ireland.
Business Development Director
One of the founders of Zest, Chris has obviously been with the company since its inception and has been key to the businesses growth. In his role as Managing Director Chris is responsible for the overall performance of the business, based on the business plan and overall strategy agreed with his fellow board members. Chris is passionate about providing a high quality service to all of our clients and in the continued success of Zest Projects. Away from work Chris’s other passion is football, very little playing these days but plenty of watching.
One of the founders of Zest, Paul was integral to setting up the business taking full ownership of all operational requirements. Pauls role is to oversee the operational delivery of workload and to support with the identification and development of new work streams.. Paul is very much focussed on quality and efficiency striving to achieve the highest level of these in everything Zest is involved with. Paul was for many years a keen fisherman with a passion for sea fishing that has since been restricted by his new found love of golf.
