Our company has been established since 2012, co-founded by former members of the British Armed Forces to provide resettlement training for Armed Forces leavers wishing to start a second career in the telecommunications industry by helping them attain a university accredited qualification which is a Post Graduate Certificate in Wireless Communications. Our unique, leading edge programme specialises in radio, wireless, cellular, 4th Generation (LTE), Internet of Things and Wi-Fi technologies and is accredited by the University of Wolverhampton. We deliver our training for those eligible via ELC funding, our ELC number is 6079.
We have been remarkably successful, boasting a 100% success pass rate with the university and we have helped 95% of our Armed Forces students into well paid, rewarding new careers in the telecoms industry in widely diverse roles that include network designers, engineers, project managers and planning. Our trainers are exceptional, many with a background in the Armed Forces with specialist experience spanning defence to corporate services.
In 2016 we diversified into providing skills development for the corporate telecommunications industry. Richard left the Army in August 2012 upon completion of his colour service. He served with the Royal Corps of Signals for 27 years seeing active service in a number of theatres. He did his resettlement training with Ubi-Tech and then joined the company as Operations Director in 2012 and he is now successfully leading the company as Managing Director.
We work with the Armed Forces Career Transition Partnership in helping men and women who have served our country to start new careers in civilian life as their military careers come to an end. We do this in two ways; firstly, by providing training and secondly by placing them into new careers either with ourselves or through our network of contacts.
As a Higher Education, accredited organisation, we are a partner of The University of Wolverhampton and we are keen to work with other local universities to help them establish closer links with the telecoms industry; we help them evaluate new curricula and our aim is to improve the retention of skills in the industry.
Ubi-Tech (3R) Ltd takes pride in having adopted The Royal British Legion as our charity of choice and we are corporate sponsors; we are also a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and demonstrate this support by sponsoring the Royal Signals Ladies football team and the Army Bismark Games in 2016.
