Colin Batt Removals is a family-run removal company based in Kent and established by Colin in 1978. It has been built on his values of honesty, integrity, pursuit of excellence and a commitment to meticulous service. These values, combined with our relentless pursuit of customer satisfaction, are reflected in our motto ‘Where Service is Key’.
Since the very beginning Colin Batt Removals has been expert in moving pianos. This is a unique and specialised skill that requires an eye for detail and precise planning. Especially if you need to manoeuvre a piano through a second floor window!
Whilst our removal company started with just one vehicle, it has now grown to a multi-fleet business that ranges from Kent out across the UK, Europe and the world.
Simon is the proud owner of Colin Batt Removals and heads up our removals family. Having grown-up on the removal lorries Simon has a deep understanding and enthusiasm for the business. Whilst he is presently also working in the RAF, as a Typhoon pilot, he is deeply involved with the business. Simon is passionate about upholding the Company’s values and fantastic reputation (Check out our reviews at
). Working daily with Andrew Urquhart, Simon is in-charge of the business and loves the fact we help our customers move home and start new and exciting chapters in their lives. Simon is supported by his beautiful wife, Elaine, without whom he would not be able to keep going.
Andrew Urquhart – Operations and Business Manager
Andrew manages Colin Batt Removals and is ready to deliver on our motto “Where Service is Key”. With a background in professional golf and as service manager with several premium brand car manufacturers, Andrew is perfectly placed to provide the levels of dedication, service and quality you rightly demand. Andrew and Simon actually grew up together in Ashford having met through golf and the Air Training Corps.
Emily is the heart of the office and will likely be the first person you speak to when you contact us. She is committed to customer service and with a degree in Business and Education from Canterbury Christ Church University she is perfectly placed to help you with your house move. She’ll work through all your requirements and be there to offer advice and support throughout your move.
Colin has spent over 35 years in the industry and there is little he doesn’t know about moving house. Colin has recently taken a less hands-on role in business, he now acts as a Director helping to guide and shape the future of the removal firm. When not at the office Colin can usually be found on the golf course attempting to perfect his swing.
Melanie has been the backbone of the business since its formation, running the office and the administrative functions as well as raising Simon and the rest of the family. Alongside Colin, Melanie has pretty much seen it all; from grand pianos manoeuvred with cranes and furniture transported to an island by speed boat. Like Colin, Melanie’s role in the business has reduced but she keeps it on tracks by auditing the accounts.
Our team are highly experienced with years of removal experience behind them. However, we do not rest on our laurels and are continuously looking at ways to improve. Safely and efficiently moving a piano or your furniture takes teamwork and we train hard to ensure our guys are the best in the business. We have monthly training days to ensure we are using the latest methods and procedures. If you choose Colin Batt Removals you will be hiring a highly trained and experienced team who are dedicated to making your move stress free.
