Her career has been varied and has involved teaching and assessing in Further Education, health clubs, leisure centres and private training centres. The next stage of her career took her into quality assurance, where she currently works as an experienced internal quality assurer for various training providers and Awarding Organisation. In addition, Elissa also works as an External Quality Assurer ensuring high standards and supporting centres and colleges across the country. Elissa has recently been commissioned to help with the development of new qualifications for the fitness industry.

Sarah has many fitness industry qualifications and is extensively educated in the remit of health and exercise science. In addition to achieving a Certificate in Education and BSc. (Hons) in Physiotherapy she holds two masters degrees with distinction (MSc. Clinical Exercise Physiology & MRes. Musculoskeletal Ageing). Academically, she is a high achiever and is working towards an NIHR funded Doctorate in Primary Care where she is investigating commissioned physical activity programmes that are being delivered to older people. Sarah’s expertise lies in exercise prescription in clinical populations specifically in the remit of exercise in ageing and low back pain. She has lectured across a wide spectrum of educational levels from people working towards level one fitness courses to doctors and health care professionals working towards master’s degrees.
Lou has always been involved in sport and fitness since an early age and comes from a sporting family of NUFC footballers, GB gymnasts, coaches and fitness fanatics. She has been skiing for over 32 years and is a keen road cyclist. In addition she teaches regular group fitness classes each week, including Spinning, Pilates and Circuits. Lou’s interest in how the body moves and performs led her to study further and complete a FD Sports Therapy, BSc Hons Integrated Health and VTCT Sports Massage L3 & L4, with commendations and first class honors. Since qualifying she has worked as a sports therapist in Switzerland, where she progressed to become a Senior European Sports Therapist, training and managing a team of sports therapists across France, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. Lou settled back in Newcastle in 2007 and started her own Sports Massage company with a growing number of therapists and clinics across the north east. She has a great deal of practical experience, including 4 years working alongside premier league football physiotherapists, match day & post training sports massage for Newcastle Falcons RFC and provision of sports massage and Pilates coaching for GB(AG) Triathletes during the race and off season Lou is always vigilant about keeping her knowledge up to date and strives to maintain a good portfolio of continued professional development (CPD), by undertaking regular workshops and courses. Lou’s passion for health, fitness and re-habilitation have driven her toward teaching and assessing to help the next generation of instructors and therapists build a strong career and be the best they can be.
