Scala Consultancy Ltd was established in January 2012 in response to a need to provide short term senior expertise to organisations supporting and delivering clinical research. A unique feature of the company is the commando effect, whereby the company is able to provide seamless integration into existing teams and structures at short notice to support growth and efficiency by maximising operational functions and providing leadership in the strategic development of your organisation.
Cathryn has worked in NHS management for over 20 years, holding employed senior Research and Development management positions across the North-West and South-West of England since 1995 and undertaking freelance strategic and operational roles across the whole of England since establishing her Consultancy business in 2012.
Business Planning & Strategic Development
I have worked with Cathryn since 2008 both as an NHS employee and as a freelance management consultant. Cathryn is a motivated and capable individual who is well able to proactively manage complex projects with a track record of effective, flexible delivery. Cathryn was the Project Manager for the SWP: CRN DRIVE project from May 2014 to July 2015, she developed the project plan and supported delivery of the project including co-ordinating project team roles and responsibilities, engagement with the research community including external communications. Cathryn also supported data analysis and the creation of delivery support tools to enhance performance. This project was managed remotely through the scoping, review and implementation phases. I provided mentorship to Cathryn whilst she was Project Manager at London NW CLRN. In this role Cathryn demonstrated the ability to assess and prioritise the key challenges in this role at both operational and strategic levels. Significantly complex, this project required careful handling and effective engagement with a range of stakeholders. Sept 2012 – March 2013.
