This simple to use but very effective camera system can be accessed by making a video call to it from a mobile/cell phone. The surveillance system makes use of the latest 3G (Third Generation) mobile phone transmission signal. The now commercially available 3G Camera Unit is a multifunctional, portable, stand alone device, available in many covert enclosures and specifications that is easy to install, and use.
Furthermore, this UK designed and manufactured product has one more trick up its sleeve. Linked wirelessly to any type of sensor, the camera will make a call to a mobile handset with a live video upon the trigger of an alert.
This technology, along with some innovative software and design features, has enabled the new patented product range to penetrate the covert surveillance market, with the introduction of capabilities never before available.
Making a video call
Products
A wide range of off-the-shelf products are available suited to all types of environments. Cameras are manufactured with Internal or external cases, dial-in only systems or with additional dial-out remote alerts linked wirelessly to sensors.
There are a range of enhanced units that include a 12V power adaptor, allowing it to be wired to a standard car battery suitable for vehicle monitoring. Tailored back up battery’s can be requested with the large capacity 18,000mAh able to provide up to 3 months standby time or approximately 40 hours constant video calling time. The battery and 3G camera unit can be packed neatly inside a camouflaged waterproof casing, along with a 2 meter extended IP44 rated camera, making it an excellent choice for external covert applications.
Microphones and camera lenses can be supplied at extended lengths of up to 2 meters. This means that cameras placed under a car seat can have lenses placed in the side panel, the dash or the head rest. Permanent power can be supplied using the vehicles battery. Applications for this product include Police “bait” vehicles, fleet management and tracking system enhancements.
The 3G cameras are available in many guises suited to different requirements and budgets. PIR movement detectors, air fresheners and smoke detectors are old favourites whilst a variety of top of the range DAB radios are also expertly adapted to provide a clear image from an almost undetectable 2mm lens, and sound pick up from the embedded mic. Because of the frequencies used, there is no interference with the FM or DAB signals.
BiBCOM has also provided many bespoke solutions including a fully integrated external IP rated motion detection / 3G camera system providing alerts from a Philippino jungle, to monitor insurgents.
