The Cornico Coffee Company was formed by two business friends Andrew Tobin and Martyn Fraser whom for many years were competitors. With a combined 45 years worth of experience in the beverage industry their passion for promoting Italian coffee and dedication to training people to produce their drinks in the traditional Italian style has certainly been one of the secrets to the Company's success.
For 14 years Andrew Tobin was the Drury Coffee & Tea distributor for Cornwall and a full time fireman. As the business became increasingly busy he focused his efforts on selling great coffee. In 2009 Andrew decided that the way forward was to choose an Italian coffee roaster who had an excellent reputation and balanced range of espresso blends and who would give the support needed for the UK coffee market, which is why Caffe Carraro was our chosen coffee partner.
Martyn Fraser began his career in the coffee trade in London for Kenco Coffee way back in 1980. He moved to Cornwall in 1986 and formed the Cornish Coffee Company which for 20 years he made a great success until he sold the company to Miko Coffee, a business based in Belgium. Brands such as Lavazza, Segafredo Zanetti and Illy Caffe were virtually unknown until Martyn introduced them into the West Country along with many new innovations.
