Timothy Dart Ltd is a consultancy service for Farm and Rural Businesses based near Truro in Cornwall.
Tim established his own farm business at Grampound Road in 2004, after successful studies at Seale Hayne gaining B.Sc. in Agriculture and P.G. Dip in Rural Business Management. He has many years of practical farm work experience both in the UK and abroad. His farm business has grown over the years and today he breeds both sheep and cattle over some 90 acres.
For the last four years Tim has also developed and managed his own renewable energy business which is focused on facilitating renewable energy opportunities including hydro, wind, and solar electric generation. Tim was an early adopter of renewable energy and believes it will be a core element of many agricultural and rural businesses going into the future, whether this be solar, anaerobic digestion, wind or renewable heat options.

Parallel to his business interests, Tim worked in the civil service for ten years, before leaving in July 2011. Beginning his career as an agri-environment advisor, he went on to operate in economic development, before leading on agricultural policy initiatives in the South West region. Notably, he was responsible for the delivery of aspects of the RDPE (Rural Development Programme for England). He was primarily responsible for the South West Agricultural Resource Management programme (SWARM) and the South West Healthy Livestock Initiative (SWHLI). In addition, his experience was broadened through engaging with a number of the West Countrys leading food processing and farming businesses such as Ginsters, Kensey Foods, Tamar Foods, Dairy Crest and Roddas to name but a few.
