Surely other people must miss pasta when they're dieting too?! Then I had my 'eureka' moment – why not create a low-carb alternative to pasta myself? That's how Barenakedfoods was born! I turned my craving into a quest for creating a product which would fulfill the needs of people like me who were trying to stick to a healthy diet. Our noodles are derived from the konjac plant which is a type of yam. They are so versatile, yet they are naturally low-carb so are ideal for people who are dieting. Not only that, they're also gluten-free, sugar-free and low-calorie – perfect for people with a gluten intolerance or diabetes.
I was delighted that I'd found a solution – especially as the noodles were delicious and very easy to use. As word spread about my products, some people I spoke to suggested I should apply to appear on Dragons' Den. So, after around eighteen months of selling my popular Barenakednoodles online, I figured more people should hear about us. However, we would need investment and most of all, professional expertise....
But my patience paid off and I was finally ready to pitch my business to Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Kelly Hoppen, Deborah Meaden and Piers Linney. At last, my big moment had arrived - although things weren't exactly going to plan....!

At the B-Fit expo in London this year, I was walking around checking out the gymnasts doing all kinds of flips when, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted two guys wearing shirts advertising low-carb noodles. Needless to say, I went up to them to find out more.
