Ashbury SatCom is a specialist online retailer of handheld satellite phones and ultra-portable mobile satellite internet devices. We sell the leading brands of products in the industry, such as the Inmarsat and Iridium satellite phones and services.

Our customers are both businesses and individuals, but they have one thing in common: they’re global travellers, adventurers and explorers and they rely on us to provide the satellite communications that enable them to stay connected from places in the middle of nowhere.

Our company was founded by 2 Brits and 2 South Africans – 2 of which have MBA’s; one from Harvard and the other from the University of Liverpool. We started trading in South Africa at the turn of the century and we started trading in the UK in 2010.

We were the very first company to sell satellite phones on the internet in South Africa, and were also one of the leading online retailers here in the United Kingdom. Our customers enjoy our unique blend of impartial, practical advice to their remote communication requirements.

Last year I used Ashbury Satcom to rent an Iridium Extreme Satellite Phone for the Artic Trail trek in Greenland. With no alternative method of communication for 8 days a reliable and cost effective sat phone was essential. The service we received from Charles was impeccable - helpful and informative he ensured that we signed up for the correct package and made sure that the phone arrived exactly when promised. Fortunately we didn't need to use the phone for emergency purposes but it was a reassuring part of our kit and was handy for the occasional phone call home. Interestingly the reception was so good I'm pretty sure my wife thought we hadn't actually left the country!
