Why the company is called Indigo Diversity
People often ask us how we chose our name so, because it’s relevant to who we are as an organisation, here’s the answer in a nutshell.
The colour representing inner knowledge, intuition and perception, as well as a colour we actually like, indigo was an obvious choice. Indigo is also said to convey integrity and deep sincerity – two more qualities we prize very highly and which show through in our company ethos.
On it’s own, indigo wasn’t enough to differentiate our organisation from others, and so diversity was chosen to help make us unique and hint at our area of work. Diversity is central to what we do because it’s about creating and sustaining a culture that seeks to respect and value difference. Those differences could be background, age, gender, ethnic origin, physical abilities or qualities and appearance, nationality, sexual orientation, educational background or marital status. What really matters is that for us, diversity isn’t an option: it’s an absolutely essential ingredient for a fair, healthy, desirable and productive world.
Indigo Diversity sums us up perfectly, and that’s why it’s our name.
Our mission is simple: we want to make a real and positive difference to the face and heart of school leadership.
We’re already taking some big steps towards achieving our goal by helping to nurture diverse leaders, and by giving those leaders the skills, awareness and confidence to embrace difference and work in ways that deliver excellence for all.
