Antler Languages is a small, independent language academy based in Oundle. We work very closely with each of our students and offer highly personalised and professional tuition. We also take the greatest interest in showing our students many of the best things that England has to offer. Following the success of our study courses and programmes we are proud to announce the opening of a new academy in Ely in 2015.
We are a certified preparation centre for the University of Cambridge English Assessment Exams: – Key English Test (KET), Preliminary English Test (PET), First Certificate in English (FCE), Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), Certificate in Proficiency (CPE) and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – the world’s leading range of qualifications for learners of English.
Antler Languages is based in Oundle, a beautiful and historic market town in Northamptonshire. Our academy is situated in the Old Town Hall, which dates from 1826 and is to be found right in the centre of Oundle on the Market Place.
Oundle is situated in the beautiful valley of the River Nene in captivating and very traditional countryside. The ancient town, rich in heritage, is famous for its many old stone buildings, inns and secret alleyways. Historically Henry VIII, William III and Mary Queen of Scots had strong connections with Oundle and we are very proud of our heritage. The town is also home to Oundle School, which dates from 1556, the third largest independent school in England. The town is considered to offer a particularly safe environment for younger students.
The founder of Antler Languages is Penny Burgess. She believes that language learning can be approached in an enjoyable and engaging way and based very much on the student’s individual study needs and abilities. Additonally, a visit to England should always be very special and a highly memorable experience.
Penny has a University of Cambridge CELTA teaching certificate and is a member of the International Association of Teaching IATEFL. She has taught large groups of children in Spain, as well as successfully guiding independent students through their preparation for the internationally recognised Cambridge English examinations and helping them to achieve excellent results.
Estuvimos todo el mes de Agosto y tres veces a la semana ibamos a la academia ,la verdad que ha sido muy gratificante porque hemos conseguido soltarnos a hablar ingles y por supuesto hacernos entender.Antler Languages se preocupa mucho que sus estudiantes solo hablen en ingles y a la vez se diviertan haciendolo.Nos ha gustado mucho Oundle ,es muy ingles y la gente es muy amable la verdad es que se esfuerzan por entenderte,tienes todos los servicios que necesitas y a la vez es muy tranquilo,es un pueblo con encanto.

Our experience in Antler Languages was truly enriching, enhancing knowledge of the English language. We really enjoyed every class and enjoyed all the activities after classes, like walking in the countryside, visiting to local towns and villages in the area and knowing the history and heritage of Oundle. The teachers were outstanding as Penny Burgess, Gina Simpson, Siobhan Lyons and Becky Cooper, they reinforced the theory and practice in our daily classes.
