BakeryBits is a small company, based at offices in Wellington, Somerset, a lovely part of the world and only 20 minutes from the Jurasic coast, even lovelier if the sun is shining. The company was started in 2008 as a tiny hobby-style business, simply importing and selling a few artisan baking products, based around our proving baskets. As time has gone by and with lots of interaction and suggestions from our growing customer base, the range has grown.
We are very fortunate to have very communicative customers with whom we love to talk to. Our aims are to provide the best artisan baking equipment and ingredients that we can find and to listen to our customers: our best ideas come from conversations with you!
At BakeryBits we aim high in terms of sustainability and ethics. Naturally, we participate in the Living Wage scheme but we try to go further than that in the way we operate. We send a lot of packages and we make sure that all the packaging is degradable or recycled. We recycle the cardboard boxes that we receive to make packaging for those that we sent. We use paper rather than plastic tape (where we use plastic tape, it is made from cellulose from trees and is degradable). We spend a bit more on our bubble wrap and mailing bags, using only those that are biodegradable. We’re not perfect: there are one or two things that we haven’t found an alternative for yet but at BakeryBits we are always looking.

BakeryBits is based in Wellington, Somerset, from where our customer orders are dispatched. It is primarily a warehouse but we do have a trade counter you can visit but please let us know that you are coming so we can get your order ready for you in time for your arrival.
